This work examines the how and the therefore, of six states of consciousness. These are presented as a series of diptychs. The picture on the left is our view of the subject in the past. On the right is the present as seen from the protagonist's point of view. I often wonder if aberrant behaviors result from a distortion in the human spirit. Perhaps it's become distorted from neglect or trauma. Regardless, what would it look like? These pictures examine the spiritual link between the physical act and the unseen thought. They offer no new or easy answers, but visually portray this metaphysical conundrum in several configurations. In some of the diptychs there's an obvious corollary between the background pictures (on the left) and the result (on the right), while others are more ambiguous. This work is a path, not a map.
Please note: The black border indicates that the picture on the left is smaller when formally exhibited.
